Closeouts, defensive slides and sprints the full length of the floor. Builds closeout footwork under fatigue and doubles as conditioning.
Setup: Two lines on the baseline, one on each side of the lane. No ball needed.
At each of four stops (free throw line extended, half court, the far free throw line extended and the far baseline), the first player in each line closes out toward the sideline, then slides back to the lane line before sprinting to the next stop. After the last stop, players run back up the sideline to the end of their line.
Coaching points:
- Break down before every closeout, hands high
- Stay low through the slide without crossing the feet
- Sprint between stops at full speed
