Shooting and shell defense in one: four offensive players around the arc against three defenders, with no dribbles and threes only. From Jim Larranaga at Miami.
Setup: Split into teams. Four play offense, three play defense and the rest wait on the sideline. A coach at the top passes in to start.
Rules:
- Every made three is a point. Games go to 3
- No dribbles. Move the ball until someone is open
- Threes only, a layup does not count
- Teams rotate on and off after each game
Coaching points:
- Defense is one player short, so rotate on every pass
- Close out on the catch and take away the open three
- Box out, the offense crashes the glass for a kick-out three
Variation: give the offense 12 seconds to get the shot off.
