A half court 3v3 game that teaches Zoom action and the reads that come out of it. Every possession starts with the same entry, then the offense plays live.
Setup:
3 offensive and 3 defensive players in the half court, one ball. 1 starts on the wing, 3 at the top of the key and 2 in the corner.
Rules:
1 passes to 3 and sets a down screen for 2, who comes off it into a handoff from 3. From there, play live. Games go to 11, counting twos and threes.
Coaching points:
  • 2 reads the defender: take the handoff, or back cut on an overplay.
  • After a back cut, 3 and the screener play a two-man game.
  • After the screen, 1 can fill the corner, lift or clear.
  • The defense talks through every screen and handoff.
