4-man Fastbreak (6 options)

Do this during the early phase of practice (preferably after the 2-man & 3-man Fastbreak). This drill helps players understand their lanes, timing, and spacing in transition. With repetition, they’ll naturally know when to cut and when to screen during games. Fastbreak situations are key because the game moves fast and there’s not always time to set up a full play, and teams often rely on motion offense in these situations. These habits and movements can carry over to any motion offense.

Coach (C1) throws the ball off the glass and 5 secures the rebound.
3 sets a screen for 1.
1 curls tight off the screen and receives a pass from 5.
  • Key Detail: 1 must go shoulder-to-shoulder on the curl.

1 dribbles down the middle of the court, while 2 and 3 run the wings with 5 trailing the play.
  • Key Detail: 2 and 3 must sprint and touch the corners.
  • Key Detail: 5 will naturally be behind the play, but must sprint and fill the rim-run spot.
