Original Review: I love these Adidas basketball shoes because they are comfortable, stylish, and have great ankle support. One day I was at basketball practice doing my signature things like always: I was cooking. However, I had on some torn, worn up, and beaten basketball shoes I had a for a while now. Boom! Just came off a switch and ended up falling hard, which led to a sprained ankle. The doctor tells me that ankle injuries are very fatal towards an athletic career, and I need to be sure

Traction works on a clean court, but will pick up a lot of dust easily making it very slippery. Cushion is by far the best aspect about this shoe imo. Support and fit were fine for me. Nothing outstanding nothing bad. It is worth noting that this shoe has a bigger toebox compared to other shoes and that there is no tongue. Personally, I like the no tongue feature as they hug my foot more like a sock. This shoe is worth if you play on a clean court, need lots of cushioning, and can get a good fit

The Trae Young 1 is solid, but overpriced. $125 at most. Has average materials but not much ventilation, and average lateral support, despite the lack of eyelets. Traction is only good on clean: picks up dust pretty quickly. Not really for outdoor use, especially because of Boost pod, and if translucent outsole. Looks nice, with a bunch of different colorways. Good cushioning, Boost and Lightstrike are nice. Fits okay, and comes with spare laces, which is nice. Good cushion and decent traction.

The heel cushion is top tier , shoe in general is responsive with a bit of bounce, traction is maybe like an A- grade (the black outsole picks up less dust than the others surprisingly), slightly wide and long but not to the point where it's affecting the support (heel stayed locked in) and playability, you can go down half a size/double sock if it bothers you so I suggest trying it out first if you can. Only issue I have faced is arch support, but I swapped out my insole and it went away

These are my first ever pair of basketball shoes, so I don’t have a pair to reference or compare them to. Overall I love these. They are very comfortable with good traction. Haven’t used them outside yet so I can’t make a comment on that. Size wise, I stuck true to size, but they do feel a small bit loose around the foot and ankle, but you don’t even notice this when you’re playing. Also to note, they don’t have a tongue, keep this in mind when buying these.

I really do like the Trae Young 1’s the only problems I had were the inconsistency of the traction and the sizing. I went true to size and the fit me a little big… plus w/out the normal amount of eyelets there was no way of locking down my foot so it resulted in some heel slippage… so as long as you go a half size down you should be fine!

A solid option to play on outdoor courts and be able to make very fast movements, the cushioning is good for running although it will not be as durable as the outer sole, just because the pair does not cover the ankle at all does not mean that it has any support since the heel fit is very good even though the shoe is wide at the toe

So traction is ok. Clean courts had no problems at all however on dusty courts I had to wipe occasionally. Cushion is amazing if not the best I ever played in. I went true to size and if I played in thin socks my foot was sliding in the shoe. So play in thick socks if you want good results. Overall great shoe after break in.

The Trae young 1 is a great shoe, everything about is great. My only complaint is the traction is sub-par on a dusty court. The fusion is amazing and the shoe feels low to the ground. Great shoe and looks great. One of my favourite adidas sneakers for sure.

I liked the way they looked. looked clean and got compliments on the court while playing. Really plays to my playing style as it helps with traction while dribbling so I don’t slip and mess my dribbles but stay in position
